This detached one-and-one-hal _y single-family residence with elements
of the bungalow style has a squar Ian with an open front porch. The one-
bay facade is asymmetrical an consists of tral glass-paned front
entrance flanked by: on the one side a - ung 1/1; window5and on the
other side a fixed window with beveled glass transom. The fran>_e construction
is finished in white asbestos_"shakes coand rests on a '� "ncfete-sscored-to-look
Bike-hr1c oundation. The gabb e roof is vered with ceda�h-tn les
arid— one shed roofed dormer to the west.) There is one central brisk._
chimney. The axis of the roof is parallel to the street. Th alterations
include a front "porch with four square wood posts and a bay one -side of
the house. Outbuildings include a garage.
HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons,important events,and/or historical patterns associated with the structure/site
and surrounding area lend the property significance.
Research in the sources consulted in this survey has not yielded any
significant historical information concerning persons or events
associated with this property.
Significance: This structure qualifies as a contributing element within a
potential historic district due to its association with the residential aspect
of the Civic Phase of Bozeman's historic/architectural development.

An excellent example of the Bungalow style in the context of this district,
this house is wll preserved with the exception of the asbestos shingle sheathing.
It was probably built in 1911 for Dr. Nelson, although no such person is listed
in any city directories. The house is an important element of the district.

This detached one and a half story single family residence has a square
plan, a recessed front porch with a raised asbestos shingle rail and four
square posts, and features a bay window facing south. A one story addition
is to the west.
The one bay facade is asymmetrical and consists of a ... front wood and
glass entry, with first floor: (1/1 ,1/1 ,1/1)(multi/1) windows; second floor:
(1 ,1,1) windows.
The frame construction is clad in asbestos shingles, and rests on a
concrete foundation scored to look like concrete block. The addition is clad
in same.
The gable roof is covered by cedar shingles, has a shed dormer facing
east, open eaves, features globe finials at the apices, and triangular knee
braces in the gable. The main axis of the roof is parallel to the street.
Outbuildings include a garage to the west, with a shed roof, frame
construction, and clad in clapboard siding with corner boards.
