Discuss significant architectural features. This detached one-story single-family bungalow residence has a square plan with an open front porch. The porch has concrete posts and a roof over the entrance on the side. The one-bay facade is asymmetrical and consists I of a central glass-paned front entrance flanked by two double-hung windows of a 1/1 sash arrangement. Tracy Ave. 1985 Revision Matt Cohen One of the most significant icant houses in the district this fine example of the 0 g ► p Bungalow style was built for August Lake, a sign painter, probably in 1918. By 1940, Like, who was still living here, ran a business called "Lake Signs", and was serving as a city commissioner. The house, which displays its original variegated shingle sheathing and dramatic Bungalow style features such as a seemingly Japanese inspired porch and a curved truss-bracketed side entrance hood, occupies a prominent corner lot. The one bay facade is symmetrical and consists of a central front wood and glass entry with first floor: (1/1 ,1/1)(1/1,1/1) windows. The frame construction is clad in wood shingles and rests on a concrete foundation. The gable roof is covered by asphalt shingles, has open eaves, a central brick chimney capped with cement, and a side concrete chimney on the north. The axis of the roof is parallel to the street. Outbuildings include a garage to the west, with a gable roof, frame construction, and clad in clapboard siding. Symmetry?
