Discuss significant architectural features. This detached two-and-one-half story single-family residence in the Victorian style has an irregular plan with a three-story central bay topped by an octagonal turret, and a wrap-around porch. The porch has elaborate arch-styled wood detailing and spindle railing, as well as exterior wood finials. The three-bay facade is symmetrical and consists of an offset etched-glass front entrance with diamond-paned 6/1 double-hung windows. There are some 1/1 + double-hung windows, and all windows has flat brick arches. The window case- ments are concrete make to look like stone. The stretched brick construction rests on a cut stone foundation. The gable-combination roof is covered with cedar shingles and features gable end designs in wood and a second-story porchette with a gothic arch on one side and a Roman arch on the other. There are two brick chimneys. Outbuildings include a carriage house. This property is significant because this residence is associated with a person important to Bozeman history, .Julius Lehrkind. Lehrkind settled in Bozeman in 1895 and established the Genuine Lager Brewery, the large brick structure at 801-815 North Wallace. In 1898 Lehrkind built this residence ' just south of the brewery. The brewery continued until prohibition when a soft drink company was established. The family continues today with this business.
