Tracy One of the most architecturally significant houses in Bozeman dating from the building boom triggered in the early 1880's, this well detailed brick house was built by R.P. Vivian - Bozeman pioneer, lawyer and county judge. The house is located on a prominent corner lot, and is an important element inz.a very cohesive streetscape. ` Vivian was born in Minnesota, and lived in Texas and Mexico before arriving in Montana in 1864. He served as a member of the two Montana legislative assemblies in 1872 and 1877, and as district attorney for the second judicial district for four years. He was also a member of the Constitutional .Convention of 1884, representing Gallatin County. By 1900, the house was under different ownership, probably Charles Esgar.
