Tracy This 1940 duplex was built by Gaines W. McCracken, proprietor of the. McCracken Brothers Clothing Store on Plain Street. McCracken occupied half the house, and rented the other half. In 1942, C. Burton Johnson, proprietor of the Bozeman Jewelry Co. , and his wife Vina A Johnson, lived in the other half. The house is well—preserved, with the exception of the asbestos shingle siding. Due to the recent age of this building, it can not be considered as a contributing element of the historic district, even though it adds to the character of the streetscape in terms of scale, musing and setback.
