The first of a group of three large, very impressive Bungalows to be
built (405 and 407 being the others) this house was built for John Kopp
Jr. , who, with William Haley, ran the Kopp Co. butcher business - a
prominent local business begun by Kopp's father. In 1927, Willaim B. Huffine,
a farmer was living here, and in 1940, Don M. Langohr was the resident
here (see 315 S. Tracy) .
Especially notable about the house are the Cobblestone recessed porch,
and the exterior chimney. All three houses may be the work of local
carpenter, Guy A. Ensinger. If so, they certainly represent the most
ambitious and most notable examples of that builder's work in the city.
The house is of primary significance in the district, as one of the
best examples of the Bungalow style in the city.
