Tracy j One of a group of three virtually identical houses (416 and 420 S. Tracy being the others) , this simple, vernacular Queen Anne style house . was built by local carpenter, John A. Bartholomew. The design seems to a have clearly been derived from "House Design No. 1096" in Fred T. Hodgson' s turn-of-the-century mail_order house pattern catalog (see appendix) . I There are other houses in the city of nearly identical design as well . j Bartholomew' s brother, Elmer Bartholomew, was an especially notable and 1 prolific early 20th century builder in Bozeman. Early residents 'of this house have not been identified. Mary Ferguson, widow of Henry Ferguson, was living here in 1927. The house is well- preserved, with the exception of the siding.
