This detached one-story single-family residence has a rectangular plan with a
large gable-roofed front porch with solid railing of brick and- semi-circular
drainage opening between posts. The two-bay facade is asymmetrical and consists
of an off-center front entrance wit4-44-dauble--hung and fixed windows with
concrete sills and porch concrete capping. The frame construction is finished
in brick and shingles and rests on a concrete foundation. The gable roof is
covered with cedar shingles and features overhang.i�ng eaves with exposed rafters.
There is an exterior brick chimney. The axis of the roof is perpendicular to
the street. Outbuildings include a two-car garage of brick.

One of the best examples of the Bungalow style in Bozeman, this large
house terminates a row of four houses of comparable age and si:gni:ficance,
It was probably built in 1918 by Robert S. Dawes, a real estate sales-
man, who lived here at least through the 1940`s,
