226 S. Black
This vernacular 19th century house, which displays an ornate, shingled
gable which is typical of the period, but somewhat unusual in Bozeman,
is probably the one noted in the Avant Courier of July 31, 1890, as
having been built by, "Vreeland ana Art ur ace" . The brick was
covered with stucco, and an arched, stuccoed entry porch was constructed,
around 1930.
The house is a very significant element of the district due to age
and architectural significance.
