Black This small building was erected by the Montana Tract Society - apparently an organization associated with the Seventh Day Adventist Church, next door at 415 S. Black - as a school . A sketch map on the sewer permit for i 417 S. Black labels this building as such. Between 1910 and 1927 four of the managers or secretaries of the Society were A.E. Everett, V.T. Armstrong, T.G. Johnson, and George T. Browning. As shown on the 1904 Sanborn Map, the building originally had a full front porch. The present entry hood is apparently an early 20th century addition. i Bibliogragh_ Application for Sewer Connection, May 10, 1917, Montana Tract Society, J.S. Johnson (agent) , 411 S. Black.
