This typical , vernacular, turn-of-the-century house was probably
built by John F. Hammann, a carpenter. It is representative of
the early twentieth century building boom in Bozeman, which
resulted in the construction of- numerous vernacular houses. This
one was built early in that surge of growth, and is consequently
related to the Queen Anne and Colonial Revival styles, rather than
the later Bungalow style. The house is well-preserved, though the
small shed dormer above the porch is probably not part of the
original design.
