An excellent example of a vernacular Queen Anne style pattern book
design, this house is virtually identical to three other houses
in the district, 412, 416 and 420 S. Tracy. All were built about
the same time by local carpenter John A. Bartholomew, and appear to
have been clearly derived from "House Design No. 1096" in Fred T.
Hodgson' s turn-of-the-century mail order house pattern catalog (see
appendix) . The house is very well-preserved.
