Cv Iww+n , TREEE 119-121 E. Main 1985 revision Matt Cohen, surveyor Originally built arount 1889, this small , 1-story commercial block was completely remodeled in 1972, both front and alley facades, for R. Evans Jewelry, the present occupant. The present glazed tile finish may have been added later, for the Gallatin County Tribune and Belgrade Journal noted that bricks used for the exterior remodeling came from a former historic building that had been demolished in Butte. According to the 1890 Sanborn Map, the building originally housed a restaurant and saloon. The building is non-contributing to the historic district. This small building was originally part of one large, 1-story commercial block, along with 115-117 E. Main, which spanned the space between the Nevitt Block to the west (107-113 E. Main) , and 123-127 E. Main to the east. In its original condition, that building was of marginal architectural significance, displaying merely a tall , plain brick parapet.with a simple corbelled cornice (see photograph attached to 115-117 E. Main form) . Bibliography_ Gallatin County Tribune and Belgrade Journal , November 23, 1972 Sanborn Map, 1890
