Concisely, accurately, and completely describe the property and alterations with dates. Number the buildings and features
to correlate with the Site Map.
The building is a detached one-story multi family/apartment building with daylight basement units. The building has four
rental units, two on the main floor, two at basement level. The cross-gabled roofed building is on a rectangular plan with
two gabled projections on the west façade. The gable roof ridge line runs north/south parallel to Tracy Avenue The façade
(west) is asymmetrical with a recessed alcove to the right of center for apartment entries served by covered exterior
stairways. Fenestration on south half of building is composed of double hung multiple light windows. Fenestration on north
half of building is more recent manufactured fixed and casement windows (indicating later remodeling). Concrete steps
lead up and down to entries of four apartments. Detached four single car garage at rear (east) of building. Part of west wall
of building and garage is finished with large composition shingles (asbestos ?). Gable roof of apartment building is finished
in composition asphalt shingles. Siding of main building and garage is press board wood material.

The 1927 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map for Bozeman (sheet 21) shows the subject lot to be vacant. the 1927/revised 1943,
revised 1957-59, and revised 1960 maps show the subject building of same four-unit building but without the covered entry
stairs, indicating some modifications after 1960, presumably with addition of newer windows on north units. The Polk City
Directory for Bozeman for 1940 (pgs. 69, 99, 126, and 142) has the first entry that indicates the four-plex apartment
building with addresss of 202, 204, 206, and 208 S. Tracy Ave. Hence the building was built between 1939 and 1940.
