Revision 1985
Probably built in 1950, the date of the water permit for this site, the Hope
Lutheran Church is an interesting example of 1950's "Space Age" design. It
replaced a frame, gable front Hope Lutheran Church on this site, shown on the
1927 Sanborn map, which in turn replaced a frame residence on the site, shown
on the 1912 Sanborn map. The church is located within a two-block area which
is occupied by seven of Bozeman's oldest church denominations. The Cockhill
House across the street has served as the parsonage for about forty years.
