Grand Revision 1985 I Of marginal significance due to alteration, this small brick house is typical of the several modest houses built by local builder A.J. Svorkmoe in the district f around the turn of the century. Like the others, this one appears to have been based upon "House Design N. 1061" in Fred T. Hodgson's mail order house pattern catalog of the period. Unlike 622 S. Grand for example, another of Svorkmoe's i houses, this one has a projecting gabled bay, rather than a flush one. The i house was part of a rapid development of the Fairview Addition at the beginning of this century. George H. Willson bought the speculatively built house from Svorkmoe soon after it was completed. Willson, between 1900 and 1910, was variously an employee of the Benepe, Owenhouse Co. , the Willson Co. , and Bozeman City Treasurer. By 1929, the house was owned by William Nevin. I Matt Cohen Revision, 1985 Non-contributing due to alteration, this modest house is one of the several built by local builder O.J. Moe at the turn of the century, during a period of rapid development in the Fairview Addition. The Avant Courier noted on September 1 , 1900: "The residence recently built by O.J. Moe on the corner of Grand Avenue S. and Alderson Street has been Purchased by I .L. Kirk, who expects to move in soon. " Ira L. Kirk, Bozeman' s postmaster, is listed at this address in the 1904-5 city directory, and on the 1904 sewer permit for the site. BibiograRhy I Application for Sewer Connection, J.L.
