Matt Cohen Revision 1985 This fine example of the Bungalow style is well preserved, and is especially visible due to its location on a corner lot opposite the empty block occupied by the T. Byron Story mansion. It is very similar in design to 303 S. 3rd Ave. It was probably built for John Y. Ferguson around 1906. By 1910 Ferguson had moved to Hardin, Montana. William D. Tallman, a mathematics professor at Montana State College, was probably the next resident here, followed by Charles A. Truitt, Secretary-Treasurer of the D.H.Budd Co. who lived here by 1927. The house appears to be the work of local carpenter J.A. Bartholomew. Bibliography Application for Sewer Connection: Nov. 1, 1906, John Y. Ferguson.
