I This detached one-and-one-half story single-family residence has a rectangular plar1 with a large open front porch with squared wood and concrete pilasters and an open wood railing. Directly above the front porch is a small balcony with an open wood railing. There are double-hung windows with 12/1 sash arrangement, and a fixed bay window on the north side. The frame construction is finished in white asbestos siding and rests on a cut stone and concrete foundation. The gable roof is covered with red and grey-green asbestos shingles and features knee braces under eaves. There are two dormers and exposed rafters , as well i as one rear exterior masonry chimney. Outbuildings include a two-car garage. .4 HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons,impol Cant events,and/or historical patterns associated with the structure/site and surrounding area lend the property significance. Matt Cohen 303 S. Third Revision 1985 This unusual example of the Bungalow style is virtually identical to 725 S. Grand Ave. , and is very well preserved, with the exception of the asbestos shingle sheathing. The house was lived in temporarily by Ernest S. Edsall , Assistant Cashier at the Gallatin State Bank, who later moved across the street to 304 S. Third Ave. By 1927, this was the home of the Alpha Gamma Rho Frater- nity.
