PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structurelsite,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance, noting additions,alterations,and changes in materials.Discuss significant architectural features. This detached one-and-one-half story double-family residence has a rectangular plan with a new addition at rear and a large open front porch with six round wood columns, open railing, and defitil detail under porch eaves . The facade is symmetrical and has fixed double-hung windows with a 1/1 sash arrangement. There is a semi-circular leaded glass window in the front gambrel end. A bric!< arch is over the first floor windows and their sills are of heavy timber. The frame construction is finished in brick veneer and shingles in the gambrel ends. It rests on a cut stone foundation. The gambrel end gable roof is covered with cedar shakes, and features two gambrel dormers with roof projecting over tho windows. There is one rear exterior brick chimney. Outbuildings include a garage remodeled into an apartment. i HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons,important events,andlor historical patterns associated with the structurelsite and surrounding area lend the property significance. Third Revision 1985 l This excellent example of the Colonial Revival style, which displays a brick veneer first floor, frame upper floor and considerable ornament overall , was probably built for Wilbur F. Williams , treasurer, and eventually vice-president of the Bozeman Milling Co. , which was run by Nelson Story. By 1927, J. Clyde Williams of the firm Williams & Fields was living here.
