F—HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons, important events, andlor historical patterns associated with the structurelsite and surrounding area lend the property significance. Matt Cohen 402 S. Third Revision 1985 An important element in the district due to its large size, this house relates to its corner lot through a canted corner entrance and wrap-around porch with a prominent corner entrance. The aluminum siding is a major detraction. The house may have been built for Lewis E Safley, a physician and surgeon. By 1916, Miles P. Lewis, a grocer, had moved here from 316 S. Third Ave. , and remained until about 1940. In 1895, Jesse B. Moore built a large barn on the corner of S. Third and Koch, probably on this lot. Bibliography Application for Sewer Connection: L.E.
