The one-bay facade is asymmetrical and consists of an off-center glass-paned front entrance with double-hung j windows with a 2/2 and 1/1 sash arrangement. There are stained glass gable ! and dormer windows. The front door pane is of etched glass. The frame con- struction is finished in aluminum siding and rests on a coarse rubble foundation. The hipped and gable roof is covered with green asbestos shingles and features one gable dormer and overhanging eaves. There is one central brick chimney. The axis of the roof is perpendicular to the street and outbuildings include a garage. 1 t Hl�,TORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons,important events,and/or historical patterns associated with the structure/site and surrounding area lend the property significance. Third Revision 1985 Typical of the several small ; Queen Anne Cottages found in Bozeman, particularly in the Cooper Park Historic District, this house consists of a hip roofed main block from which projects a canted, gabled bay. Aluminum siding and porch altera- tions are serious detractions. The original owner may have been Martha E. Stiff, widow of Jesse Stiff.
