Revision 1985
Of marginal significance due to asbestos siding, this house was probably first
occupied by George Bartz, Assistant Postmaster in 1900. Bartz later worked for
the Thomas H. Rea & Co. grocery on Main St. , and eventually for himself, in his
own grocery. By 1910, Bartz was living at 224 S. 6th Ave. , while Ernest J.
Parkin, principal of the Gallatin Co. High School, occupied the house. Parkin
remained here until sometime between 1916 and 1927.
