PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance, noting additions,alterations,and changes in materials.Discuss significant architectural features. This attached multi-family residence has an irregular plan and is attached at the side rear to a newer apartment building. The original structure has an asymmetrical two-bay facade and consists of an enclosed front entrance with four double-hung 1/1 windows on the entrance facade , and a three-window 4/4 double-hung bay on the other facade. There is a small double hung 1/1 window in the upper level . The frame construction is I finished in shiplap with imbricated/color patterned shingles in the gable ends, and rests on a concrete foundation. The gable roof is covered with green asbestos shingles and has one central brick chimney. Outbuildings include a garage. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons,important events,and/or historical patterns associated with the structure/site and surrounding area lend the property significance. Matt Cohen 419 S. Third Revision 1985 One of the most significant houses in this section of South Third Ave. , this well preserved Queen Anne Cottage relates to its corner lot with a "T"-plan, bay window, corner porch and elaborately shingled gables.
