This detached two-and-one-half story single family residence has a square central
hall plan with a very nice two-story porch-balcony combination. The porch is
open and supports the balcony with roman doric columns. They have very nice old
doors. The flush-facade is asymmetrical and consists of an off-center glass-
paned front entrance with double-hung windows with 1/1 sash arrangement. The
gable windows are lattice leaded. The frame construction is finished in clap-
board and rests on a rubble stone foundation. The interesting gable and hipped
roof is covered with green asbestos shingles and features gables and dormers,
as well as overhanging eaves. There is one outside central brick chimney.
There are no noticeable alterations except an attached hipped-roof garage.

Verysignificant in the streetscape due to its large size, good state of pre-
servation and corner location, this house was probably built by Jarvis M. Flint,
i president and manager of the Flint-Lynn Lumber Co. , and a rancher. Flint lived
here from at least as early as 1904, through about 1935. His widow, Mrs. Ida
Flint, remained into the 1940' s.
