Third { Revision 1985 I A fine example of a typical, vernacular, early 20th century house, this building's large size relative to Bozeman reflects the overall oppulence of this neighborhood. The stucco surface may have been added in the early 19301s, while the tripartite window in the south wall is probably a more recent addition. Like 509 S. Third across the street, this house was probably built speculatively by Judge F.K. Arm- strong, who lived in the impressive 501 S. Grand. Lawrence L. Brotherton, an agent for the Jerome B. Rice Seed Co. , lived here temporarily in 1916 before he built an impressive Colonial- Revival style house at 304 W. Cleveland. Bibliography i Application for Sewer Connection: April 30, 1914, F.K.
