This detached two-story single-family residence has a square plan with a hipped roof front porch with paired wood posts and solid railing. The one=bay facade is symmetrical and consists of a central door with 1/1 double-hung windows. The frame construction is finished in beveled clapboard and rests on a cut stone foundation. The hipped roof is covered with cedar shingles and features a hipped dormer and two brick chimneys. There is a bay window in the structure and stained glass in the front and side windows as well as a back corner porch. �i HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons,important events,and/or historical patterns associated with the structure/site and surrounding area lend the property significance. Third Revision 1985 A very well preserved example of a turn of the century "American Four Square" house type, this house displays a very fine Colonial Revival style porch very similar to that of 509 S. Third. Charles Callaghan, county street commissioner and later a county commissioner, moved into the house around 1910, a few years after its construction. He remained until about 1930.
