Revision 1985
Similar in form and plan to "Douse Design No. 1061" in H odgson's turn of the
century mail order house pattern catalog, this house is typical of others built
by local builder A.J. Svorkmoe, though elaborated upon with elements of the
Queen Anne and Colonial Revival styles. The house may have been custom built
by Svorkmoe for Dr. Joseph H. Delaney. Delaney is listed at this address from
1910 (and possibly earlier) through 1916 (and possibly later) . His widow, Mrs.
N.H. Delaney, is listed here in 1927. Dr. Delaney worked with Dr. Floyd C. Jump
in the partnership of "Delaney & Jump". Jump married Frank L. Benepe's daughter
and in 1909 built a house on W. Olive Street.
This house is of primary significance in the historic district.
