of a central front entrance with double-hung and casement windows with
diamond panes. The frame construction is finished in clapboard siding and
shingles on the second floor. The gambrel-gable combination roof is covered

There is a central brick chimney. The axis of the main roof is parallel to
the street with a front-facing intersecting gambrel roof.

Revision 1985
Due to the enclosure of the porch of this house between the time the attached
photograph was taken in 1983 and the summer of 1985, this house which was once
of high architectural significance, as an example of the Colonial Revival style,
is now of only marginal significance.
The house was probably built for William F. Brewer, professor of Latin and English
at Montana State College. Brewer was listed at this address in city directories
between 1904 and 1942, and probably longer.
