This detached one-and-one-half story single-family residence has a rectangular- plan with a hipped roof extension over the recessed corner entry. The two- bay facade is asymmetrical and consists of a glass-paned offset front entrance with 1/1 double-hung windows and several leaded glass windows on the south side The frame construction is finished in bevel siding and rests on a concrete foundation with a stone and stucco veneer. The gable-hipped combination roof is covered with brown asphalt shingles and features gabled dormers and boxed eaves, as well as a central metal stovepipe. The axis of the main roof is perpendicular to the street. Outbuildings include a garage. Matt Cohen 725 S. Third Revision 1985 One of the several vernacular Queen Anne style houses in Bozeman that appear to have been based upon "House Design No. 1096" in Fred T. Hodgson's mail order house pattern catalog, this well preserved house was probably built for Guy H. Hinds, a dentist. Attorney Joseph L. Staats lived here from about 1910 to about 1930.
