PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance,
noting additions,alterations,and changes in materials.Discuss significant architectural features.
This detached one-and-one-half story single-family residence has a rectan-
gular plan with an open shed-roofed front porch. The two-bay facade is
asymmetrical and consists of an offset front entrance with 6/1 double-hung
and casement windows. The frame construction is finished in shingles and
rests on a rubble stone foundation. The gable-shed combination roof is
covered with grey asphalt shingles and features two shed-roofed dormers
and overhanging eaves with exposed rafters. There is a central stone
chimney. The axis of the roof is parallel to the street. outbuildings
include a garage.

Research in the sources consulted in this survey has not yielded any
significant historical information concerning persons or events
associated with this property.

This excellent example of the Bungalow style was probably built for George F. Gould,
a traveling salesman and insurance agent. By 1927, Otto A. Sippe. The state
apiarist, occupied the house.

+ The house, which occupies a prominent corner lot, is notable for its decorative
exposed rafter tails, cobble stone foundation and other detailing, as well as
its fine state of preservation.
