This detached one-and-one-half story single-family residence has a rectan- gular plan with an open shed-roofed front porch. The two-bay facade is asymmetrical and consists of an offset front entrance with 6/1 double-hung and casement windows. The frame construction is finished in shingles and rests on a rubble stone foundation. The gable-shed combination roof is covered with grey asphalt shingles and features two shed-roofed dormers and overhanging eaves with exposed rafters. There is a central stone chimney. The axis of the roof is parallel to the street. outbuildings include a garage. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons,important events,and/or historical patterns associated with the structure/site and surrounding area lend the property significance. Third 1 Revision 1985 I This excellent example of the Bungalow style was probably built for George F. Gould, a traveling salesman and insurance agent. By 1927, Otto A. Sippe. The state apiarist, occupied the house. i + The house, which occupies a prominent corner lot, is notable for its decorative exposed rafter tails, cobble stone foundation and other detailing, as well as its fine state of preservation.
