Archives STREET _J PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance, noting additions,alterations,and changes in materials.Discuss significant architectural features. This detached two-and-one-half story single-family residence has a square plan with a hipped roof open front porch with a small gable overdoor defining the entry. The two-bay facade is asymmetrical and consists of an off-center glass-paned front entrance with fixed and 1/1 double-hung windows, as well as a picture window in front with leaded leaded glass in the upper portion. The frame construction is finished in asbestos shingles and rests on a low concrete foundation. The gable roof is covered with grey-red asphalt shingle and features returning eaves and two central brick chimneys, one interior and one exterior. Outbuildings include a two-car garage. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons,important events,and/or historical patterns associated with the structure/site and surrounding area lend the property significance. i This property was built for Mable K.Jnney Eall, a teacher of public speaking in modern languages at Montana State College from 1900-1909. i Matt Cohen 812 S.Third Revision 1985 This simple, early 20th century house was probably built by Mrs. Mable K. Hall, a teacher, and widow of Charles B. Hall, formerly a professor at Montana State College. The house is well preserved, with the exception of the asbestos shingle sheathing.
