This detached two-story single-family residence has a rectangular plan
with an enclosed front entry with a gable roof. The two-bay facade is
asymmetrical and consists of an ensefinished entrance
shingleswith
and6sdtucboe
hung windows. The frame construction
with tudor detailing. It reand featuress on a crete overhangidngteaves.ThTherelareotwo
is covered with wood shakes
offset brick chimneys. The axis of the roof is parallel to the street.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons,important events,andlor historical patterns associated with the structurelsite

This property was built as a residence for Hadleigh and -Jessie Marsh.
Marsh came to Montana State College in 1929 as a specialist in animal
diseases. The Montana State Veterinary Laboratory on the MSU is
named in his honor. His wife Jessie was a writer of children's books.

The house is a fine example of the Tudor Revival style, which was especially
popular in the 1930' s.
