PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance,
noting additions, alterations, and changes in materials. Discuss significant architectural features.
This detached one-and-one-half story single-family residence with office
area in front has a square plan with an extensively altered front porch
area. The front entry has been removed and corner windows replaced with
shingles and casement windows. Decorative shutters have been added
to the windows. The entry is to the side and there is an outside
stairway accessing the second floor. The frame construction is finished
in shingles and 2" beveled siding, the shingles finishing the gable ends.
The foundation is of concrete and the gable roof is covered with asphalt
shingles. The roof features a gable dormer in the center front and
exposed rafters with decorative knee braces. The axis of the roof
is parallel to the street.

Matt Cohen Revision: 1985
J Despite alterations, particularly what appears to be enclosure of a recessed
corner porch probably c. 1969, this typical Bungalow makes a significant
contribution to the streetscape. No evidence has been found to link George
Craig, who is not listed in the 1912-13 directory, and in 1916 was living on
East Mendenhall Street, with this structure.
