This detached one-story single-family residence has a rectangular plan with a small brick front porch with side access in front of the entrance. ' The porch has no roof. The frame construction is finished in 2" beveled siding and sits on a concrete foundation. The gable roof is covered with forest green asphalt shingles and has an exposed brick chimney, and exposed rafters. The axis of the roof is perpendicular to the street. { r HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons,important events,and/or historical patterns associated with the structure/site and surrounding area lend the property significance. Research in the sources consulted in this survey has not yielded any significant historical information concerning persons or events associated with this property. Matt Cohen Revision 1985 A Bungalow of marginal significance due to alteration, this house was probably built in 1924 by George R. Safley, possibly as a speculative venture. Just three years later, Alan R. Smith, who owned Smith' s Furniture Store, was listed as the resident here.
