One of the most detrimental non-contributing buildings in
any historic district in Bozeman, the Artemus Apartments
occupy about half a city block, and virtually sever the
northern section of the historic district along S. Willson
Avenue from the southern section. The complex was built
on the site of one of Bozeman's finest historic buildings
- the Lamme House. That house, built in the Queen Anne/Colonial
Revival style, was designed by N. Dakota architect George
Hancock and was built by Ed Lamme, son of Bozeman pioneer
and merchant Achilles Lamme.
