Revision 1985
A modest example of a 3x2 bay, Georgian Plan Colonial style house, this building
is one of the early designs of local architect Fred F. Willson. It was built
for Lawrence L. Brotherton, agent for the Jerome B. Rice Seed Co., at the time
this house was built. Brotherton soon after established the Bozeman Canning
Co. with Cassius Kirk as a partner. In about 1940, Brotherton established the
frozen food company of Pictsweet, Inc.
i This house was listed as vacant in 1940, but afterward was occupied by Cassius
! Kirk, Vice President of the Bozeman Canning Co.
The house is similar to 426 W. Cleveland.
