Cleveland Revision 1985 I This unusual house, a rare combination of two philosophically opposed architectural styles - the Craftsman style and the Colonial Revival style - is of very high architectural significance, and is characterized by refined proportions and detailing. The door surround, formed of paired, engaged Tuscan column6 supporting a full entablature is unusual in Bozeman in its own right, but especially in association with an otherwise Craftsman style house. The house was probably built for Fred S. Cooley, in 1912 the supervisor of "Farmers Institutions", and in 1916 director of "Extension", probably Montana state College's ! agricultural extension service. + In the 1930's and 1940 's, the Kappa Delta Sorority was located here.
