Matt Cohen , surveyor
Probably built in 1915 for Emmett W . Thompson , this fine , well -
preserved example of the Bungalow style is very similar to 216 S .
5th , across the street . Both are similar in overall form and
detailing to two other houses just one block to the south , 316
and 320 S . 5th . The latter two houses are the work of local car-
penter/builder W . H . Cline , and this one may be as well .
Emmett W . Thompson , a barber who rented space in the National Bank
of Gallatin Valley building at 1 West Main Street , probably
built this house after moving out of 209 S . 5th Ave . , a nearby
Queen Anne style house .
