PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance,
noting additions,alterations,and changes in materials.Discuss significant architectural features.
This detached one-and-one-half story single-family residence has a square plan
with a two-bay asymmetrical facade consisting of a central front entrance with
1/1 double-hung windows and a bay window. The frame constructionis finished
in lapped asbestos siding and features a flat-roofed front porch supported by
braces and latticework. The structure sits on a concrete foundation with stone
and brick veneer. The gable roof is covered with grey asphalt shingles and
features a front gabled wall dormer and boxed eaves , as well as a central brick
chimney. The axis of the roof is parallel to the street. Outbuildings include
a garage, with a center brick chimney, that has been converted to an apartment.

This simple early 20th century house , of a general form common in
house pattern books , is of only marginal significance due to
alteration . Asphalt shingle sheathing and an extensively remodeled
porch are the most significant alterations .
William Alward , of the Roecher & Alward drug store ( Carrara glass
store front of 118 E . Main St . ) appears as the owner on the sewer
permit for this address , thouh he does not appear in the 1910- 11
city directory .
