Matt Cohen , surveyor
This striking , well maintained house is one of the finest of
the numerous Bungalows in the district , and displays what is
probably one of the first uses of the jerkin head roof - a
feature that appeared in Bozeman in the late 1920 ' s ( it was also
used in the 1880 ' s ) . The house was probably built by local
carpenter Eugene F . Crail , who is listed as the owner on the
sewer permit for this site .
The house does not appear on the Sanborn Map of 1927 . The
residents here in 1933 were George Doering , general manager of
the Willson Co . ( 101 E . Main St . ) , widow of -Otis C Bennett .
