PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance,
noting additions,alterations,and changes in materials.Discuss significant architectural features.
This detached one-story single-family residence has a rectangular plan with a
recessed front entrance with solid railing. The facade is symmetrical and consist
of a central front entrance with fixed and 3/1 double-hung windows, as well as a
small windows in the gable end. The frame construction is finished in beveled
siding with 3" overlap and has shingles in the gable ends. The gable roof is
covered with cedar shingles and features a rear brick chimney. It sits on a
concrete foundation. The axis of the roof is perpendicular to the street.
Outbuildings include a carport with a green plastic roof.
HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons,important events,and/or historical patterns associated with the structurelsite
and surrounding area lend the property significance.
Research in the sources consulted in this survey has not yielded any
significant historical information concerning persons or everts
associated with this property.
This structure qualifies as a contributing element within a potential historic
district due to its association with the residential aspect of the Progressive
Phase of Bozeman 's historic/architectural development.

This distinctive , Bungalow style house is very similar to both
316 and 320 S . 5th , and is probably the work of the same builder ,
W . H . Cline . It may , however , be of a standard plan , for this house
was built eleven years after the above two .
Wallace H . Shipton , a traveling salesman , and his wife Leah E .
are listed as the residents here in 1933 .
