PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structurelsite,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance,
noting additions,alterations,and changes in materials.Discuss significant architectural features.
This detached one-story single-family residence has a rectangular plan with an
attached carport and a shed-roofed front porch attached to a projecting gabled
bay extension. The facade is asymmetrical and consists of an offset front entrance
with fixed and 4/1 double-hung windows. There is a new fixed picture window
in the front bay and stone sills on all the windows. The frame construction is
finished in regular ashlar rock face stone with quoins and rests on a concrete
foundation. The gable roof is covered with green asbestos tiles and has two chimne s
of brick, one exterior and one interior. The axis of the roof is perpendicular
to the street.

zatlon Phase of Bozeman 's historic/architectural development.

One of only three significant historic structures in Bozeman
built of molded concrete block ( the others are 415 S . 8th Ave .
and 1 W . Main St) , this Bungalow also displays stucco and glass
block.
The resident in 1933 was Edward C . Cates . While the name Kenneth
Colbern appears on the sewer and water permits of 1932 , Cates
is not listed in the 1933 directory .
