Matt Cohen , surveyor
A fine example of a vernacular , Tudor Revival style house built
at the time of the first major departures from the Bungalow style ,
this house was probably built for Stanton 0 . Maxwell , a secretary
at the Bozeman Courier , and his wife , Gertrude A . Maxwell .
Stanton U. Maxwell moved to Portland around 1940 , and Horace G .
Bolster, a land specialist at Montand State College , moved in
with his wife Ella Bolster .
According to the 1935-6 city directory , no structures stood in
the 600 or 700 block in 1935 .
