The best example of several similar pattern book houses built
in the district in the 1930 ' s , this house may be one of a few
built by Dr . Bernard J . Heetderks , probably for rental or later
sale . Two similar houses nearby are 615 and 616 S . 5th Ave .
Leonard B . Lenehan , a clerk at the "U . S . A. A . A" is listed in the
1940 city directory at this address . Bernard J . Heetderks , and his
wife Kathryn B . (who signed the sewer and water permits ) lived in
a more posh section of town at 426 W . Cleveland . ( see also 616
and 622 S . 5th ) .
