Matt Cohen, surveyor
Presently non-contributing due to alteration, this simple gable front house
could be returned to contributing status. It may have been built in 1910,
the date of the sewer permit. Benjamin W. Metheny, a farmer, is listed on
both the sewer permit, and in the directory of the same year, at this address.
It is possible that Metheny, like many other farmers and ranchers , only rented
the house for a short time, perhaps just through the winter, though the
appearance of his name on the sewer permit suggests ownership: Eva M.
Wells (widow of Nathan G. Wells) is listed as the resident in 1927.
