Matt Cohen, surveyor
A typical example of the vernacular Queen Anne style, this house displays
asymmetrical massing and decorative pediment shingling, but has unfortunately
lost its original porch posts and balustrade. It is an important element in
the streetscape.
Joseph H. Hopkins, a janitor at the Longfellow School , lived here at least as
early as 1908, and remained until his death, sometime before 1927. In the
directory of that year, Mrs. Elizabeth Hopkins, his widow is listed as the
resident. Lawrence M. Landrith, a teacher at the Gallatin County High School ,
is listed as the resident of 1933.
