This starkly modern, white clapboard, 11-2-story house has a very broad gable
front facing Cooper Park, punctuated by a bowed, central entrance portico
that blends with the wall surface. The clapboard portico shelters a recessed
entrance with paneled sideboards, and also serves as a projecting balcony for
the recessed porch in the floor above. Two small square windows flank the
portico, while very large square windows, one to the left and two to the
right, pierce the walls. Trim consists of wide fascia boards, but no pro-
jections. Eave sides are slightly shorter than the gable front, and are
broken at the rear by recessed corners - the one at the northeast corner
accomodating as entry porch, and the one at the southeast accomodating
as entrance and various main floor and basement windows. From the rear gable
projects a rectangular, gabled projecting bay, which meets flush with the main
block roof and the lower half of the rear gable end. From the north slope of
the low-pitched, wood shingle roof rises a massive square chimney covered
with clapboard.
Garage: Mimicking the house, the white clapboard garage behind it has
similar proportions, and in the north and shouthwest corners (facing the
house) , small recessed entry porches. The west gable end is otherwise
pierced by four small square windows symmetrically placed, and divided by
a wide horizontal fascia board that forms a pediment. At rear are two
unornamented overhead sliding garage door. A square, clapboarded chimney
rises from the south slope of the roof.
