Matt Cohen, surveyor
One of the several excellent examples in the district of this eaves front
Bungalow house type, this imposing structure stands prominently on a
corner lot, across the street from a very similar house, 522 S. 6th Ave.
The pair creates a very striking effect. Because of the double gable dormer and
other details, the house is similar to 313 S. 6th Ave.
The house was probably built for David A. Reed, proprietor of Reed' s Bootery,
at 136 W. Main. By 1927, Budge C. Parker, secretary of the Gallatin Valley
Seed Co. (see E. Main St. Historic District) was living here.
