Ensinger, a local carpenter of the early 20th century. (This one may be one of the five noted in a 1917 article in the American Builder magazine, see district statment of significance. ) The house was occupied in 1927, and possibly earlier, by J. Herbert Howell , who ran a small grocery at 614 W. Dickerson St. Howell later ran the College Hill Grocery, 602 S. 7th. Ave. , and probably built that small structure on the lot adjoining this one to the rear. Bibliography I Application for Sewer Connection, November 1, 1915, G.A.
