1985 revision
Matt Cohen, surveyor
Despite the application of artificial siding, this house is a fine example
of the Bungalow style, and represents a common house type, characterized
by a full recessed front porch. It is very similar to 316 and 320 S. 5th
Ave. both built by W.H. Cline, and may be the work of the same builder.
Another builder' s name however, G.A.Ensinger, appears on the water permit of
1914 for this site. It is possible that Ensinger sold the lot to Cline,
who built this house in 1916, the date of the sewer permit. The original
owner may have been Lena Cleven, whose name appears on the sewer permits.
In 1927, Fred I. Powers, an architect, resided here.
